#6 PSSST..... Can we get a little personal?

Image
Tomorrow, my son graduates from high school, and I couldn't be prouder (or more relieved!). Reflecting on his journey, I’m struck by how much the digital world has shaped his life—and how I’ve managed to keep up (mostly). Born in the early 2000s, he’s never known a world without social media, apps, and touchscreen devices. Meanwhile, I remember dial-up internet and floppy disks—clearly, we speak different languages. But you know what? I’ve adapted like the digital chameleon mom I am. They call this generation "digital natives". Clearly, I'm the digital immigrant. Point being is that I think our brains are wired totally different. Dr. Bruce D. Perry says “different experiences lead to different brain structures,” and I can vouch for that. While he effortlessly juggles six apps at once, (the discussion on multi-tasking is NOT for today) I’m mastering the art of not hitting “reply all” on emails. Okay, I'm not that bad...... I'm actually quite tech savvy, learnin

#5 Networked @ Work

Recently, I've been pondering just how connected we are... how networked we are at work. As a global society, we've always had connections, but now, thanks to computers, the world wide web, and business software, the workplace is more networked than ever. We've shifted from working with tangible materials to abstract, internet-based functions, making the workplace a productivity powerhouse. In fact, the average worker now spends about 10 hours a day online. Yes, you read that right—10 hours!  So, how connected are you at work? If you work from home, how do you stay plugged into the matrix? Which tools do you use? Do you love them, or are they just the necessary evil of remote work? Maybe you work in an office. In that case, how do you stay connected there? Do you physically walk over to your colleagues' desks, or do you prefer to send an email and then hide behind your computer, pretending to be busy? Let's hear your thoughts—because what better way to spend your 10

#4 Tool Review Blogger

Welcome Back Nuero-Networkers! Can we pause for a moment.......I want to discuss this platform I'm using for my blog. It came highly recommended as a great beginner tool for a first-time blogger, and I couldn't agree more! This tool was so easy to set up that I had my first blog written in a matter of minutes. Now, I'm not an affiliate for this software—though it probably sounds like I am. The best part? It's free! Check out the tutorial below. If you're interested in blogging in the near future and want the path of least resistance, I highly recommend this tool that came highly recommended to me. (No, really, I promise I'm not getting paid for this!)

#3 Web 2.0

Who Even Am I?   Seriously, who am I? One minute, I'm staring at a blank screen, clueless about starting a blog. The next minute, here I am, cranking out my third blog in a week. Wild, right? Even wilder is that a few brave souls out there actually read my ramblings and felt compelled to comment. Yep, that's right—comments! Suddenly, I’m feeling pretty legit about calling myself a blogger. Okay, enough of that, you’re here for more Neuro-Networked goodness. So let’s dive in! From Static Web to Maximizing Learning in Web 2.0 If you’re as ancient as I am, you might remember the good ol’ days when the web was a static, one-way street. You’d visit a site, read some stuff, and that was it. Boring, right? But if you’re one of those spring chickens, you’ve only known the dynamic, interactive wonderland that is Web 2.0. This is where everyone can be both a consumer and a producer of content—a "prosumer," if you will. Sounds alarming, but don’t worry, it’s harmless. It just me

# 1 Where Are My People?

Ah, the thrilling world of blogging – a realm I never thought I'd venture into. I mean, who even reads blogs anymore? Besides my obligatory work-related one, of course. Is blogging still a thing?  Well, for better or worse, here I am, poised to embark on this digital journey. My aim is to gain one subscriber: A solitary soul who sees value in dedicating precious moments of their life to peruse my structured yet delightfully chaotic posts. Could that be you?  This saga began with the daunting task of conjuring up a name for my little corner of the internet. (I actually think that sounds pretty cool, you know- having a corner of the internet!)  The very thought makes me wonder who wouldn't want a blog? After four grueling days of contemplation (and maybe a few existential crises), I settled on the name "Neuro-Networked." Because, you know, why settle for a simple name when you can cram all your interests into one ambiguous title? To be clear, I'm obsessed. It's
